Michael Macfarlane is the Founder and Senior Partner of Michael Macfarlane Associates. The private office is built around the values of trust, intelligence and discretion, and specialises in the build, management and protection of the reputations of Family Offices and UHNWI families online and in the global media. In January 2024 Michael was an expert speaker at the Association of Family Offices in Asia at the Asia Futurists Leadership Festival in Hong Kong.
The private office that Michael leads also supports UHNWI families to build their legacy by turning wealth into worth through the synthesis of philanthropy into their online and media persona. Michael also advises Family Offices on navigating special situations that impact reputation, such as litigation; as well as providing access to intelligence services for the handling of sensitive private matters; as well as the global promotion of yacht and jet assets.
Michael Macfarlane is also the founder of the 2030 Sustainable Development Collective Fund, a UK-registered charitable fund that channels the private wealth of UHNWI philanthropists and Family Offices into sustainable development projects in the remote and low-income communities of the developing world in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Michael is currently also a Board Member at Paris-based Team Vitality, the most influential and valuable esports organisation in Europe, which competes in the biggest esports licences. Michael is also an advisor to the Rewired Venture Studio in Switzerland, a $200m growth-stage venture fund that invests in the component technologies of Artificial Intelligence.
Before founding Michael Macfarlane Associates, Michael was Global Director of Content, Brand and Communications for a Single Family Office in London that managed multi-billion-dollar associate companies and invested in disruptive ventures. Michael also led the launch and expansion of ambitious philanthropic projects around the world, including the creation of a new Foundation that has since cured 60,000 people of blindness.
Michael was formerly Managing Partner at a global business communications agency with 600 employees across 14 global offices; where he advised on content marketing solutions for blue chip corporate clients before, during and after major transactions such as IPO. During this time Michael was a regular expert speaker at stock exchange events in Moscow, Hong Kong and London. Prior to this he was the founder of two global communications firms, after initially starting his professional career at global advisory firm Brunswick, based in London.
